Who we are

Flagstick is a golf rangefinder and scorecard that runs on this website and in the Flagstick iOS and Android apps. There is no account. You type a name when you join a room.

位置Location

While a round is open, the app uses your location to measure distance to the green, bunkers, and water. Location is used only while you are using the app. It is not collected in the background, it is not stored on our server, and it is not sold or used for advertising.

Microphone and speech

The mic button is optional. If you tap it, the phone’s speech recognizer turns what you say into text so you can confirm a score. Flagstick does not upload or keep the recording. You can type the same words instead.

Scores and your name

The scorecard, bag, and downloaded courses stay on the phone. When you are in a room, the app sends your display name and the stroke count for each hole you enter to the group server, so the other phones in that room can show the leaderboard.

Guest id

The app keeps a random id on the phone so a room can tell your scores apart. It is not your name and it is not linked to an Apple or Google account.

地图Maps

Hole pictures are requested from Esri World Imagery when you open a mapped hole. Course search uses OpenStreetMap services. Those requests include the map area, not your score.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising trackers. We do not ask for contacts, photos, or precise location in the background. The handicap number in the app is an estimate, not an official Handicap Index.

儿童Children

Flagstick is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Retention

Room scores stay on the group server while that room is active. Deleting the app removes the scorecard stored on the phone.
